They may not have figured in the India squad announced for the five ODIs at home against Sri Lanka. Veterans Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh though can score big in domestic cricket and stage a comeback, feels former India captain Sunil Gavaskar. Speaking to NDTV, Gavaskar said that while selectors are looking at fresh faces ahead of the World Cup in February next year, both Sehwag and Yuvraj should not lose hope. "It is understandable that the selection committee is looking at new faces. They already know what Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh are capable of. If they show tremendous form in domestic matches, they'll certainly be in the frame. I won't rule them out at all" he said. (Related: Yuvraj, Sehwag won't feature in World Cup, predicts Ganguly)
Both Sehwag and Yuvraj would be looking to make an impression in the Duleep Trophy semifinal which starts from Wednesday. Although Sehwag made his last international appearance in March 2013 - against Australia - and Yuvraj was last seen in Centurion in December 2013, the duo have the ability to impress with bat and ball. "While we look at them as batting destroyers, what every captain is looking for is somebody who can bowl a few overs. Both these guys can bowl a few overs and it gives the captain flexibility," said Gavaskar.
