Wasim Bari Likely to be Appointed as Pakistan Team Manager or Chief Selector

A source inside the Pakistan Cricket Board said Wasim Bari's name was being considered seriously since he has plenty of experience having worked as chief selector and also in management positions in the past.

Karachi: Former Pakistan Test captain Wasim Bari has emerged as a strong candidate to be appointed either as the manager of the national cricket team or the chief selector after PCB has decided that no one would be allowed to hold dual positions in the board.

Reliable sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board told PTI that the Board of Governors at its meeting held in Lahore on Thursday had decided that dual roles lead to conflict of interests and this practice should no longer be allowed.

Although there are number of former players and other officials holding dual positions in the board, the most prominent is former Test captain Moin Khan, who is working as manager of the national team and also as chief selector.
