Australia Tour Good Exposure for Team India Before World Cup, Says Sunil Gavaskar

India travel to Australia for a four-match Test series and a triangular ODI series involving England as the third team from December 4 to January 30.

Thiruvananthapuram: Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar on Wednesday said though the Team India's upcoming Australian tour is likely to be a hard one, it would provide them a good exposure ahead of the upcoming World Cup. (Virat Kohli will enjoy Test captaincy in Australia: Rahul Dravid)

"The Australian tour will be a hard one for Team India. They will have a real tough time. But it will be a good exposure to the team ahead of the next World Cup," he said. (Dhoni out for first Test vs Australia)

However, he did not comment on the controversy over Sachin Tendulkar's allegations against former team coach Greg Chappell in his recently released autobiography and repeated his early statement that Chappell should have backed captains.
