Indian-Origin Fast Bowler Gurinder Sandhu in Cricket Australia XI for Two-Day Tour Match vs India

Gurinder Sandhu won the Steve Waugh Medal for the best New South Wales player of the year for the 2012-13 domestic season. The two-day tour match in Adelaide will serve as warm-up for the Indian side ahead of the four-match Test series starting in Brisbane from December 4.

Sydney: Western Australia's young right-handed batsman Ashton Turner has been named captain while New South Wales fast bowler Gurinder Singh also found a place in the Cricket Australia XI squad for the first of two tour matches against India in Adelaide, starting on November 24.

India's both tour matches will be two-day affairs and will be a part of the visitor's warm-up ahead of the four-Test series against Australia beginning at the Gabba in Brisbane on December 4.

Sandhu, born in Sydney to parents who emigrated from India, will spearhead CA XI's bowling attack in the tour match at the Gliderol Stadium on November 24-25.
