Mumbai: Australian middle order batsman Damien Martyn, who is on his first Test tour to India, today said his side needed to play some "good team cricket" to emerge successful from the challenging series starting in Bangalore from October 6. "Playing against the strong Indian batting line-up on turning tracks is always a big challenge. I personally think playing against the likes of (Sachin) Tendulkar and (VVS) Laxman is lot of fun as you can only admire their talent which comes to the fore on Indian wickets," he told reporters here. "Cricket is such a hard game especially when you are playing world class spinners like (Anil) Kumble and Harbhajan (Singh) in difficult environment. To triumph under such circumstances we have to play good team cricket as we did against Sri Lanka recently," Martyn said. "I was part of the squad which won the Test series in Sri Lanka and I enjoyed playing the world's best spinner Muthiah Muralitharan on turning wickets. "We could win the series due to a very good team work and I expect the same when we will be facing two accomplished spinners on Indian wickets," said Martyn, who scored 330 runs including two centuries against Lanka. "Though we have a strong batting line-up with Hayden and Langer at the top followed by Lehmann, Ponting and Gilchrist and others, we have great respect for the Indian spinners who are very effective on turning tracks," he added. When asked whether he has any strategy to face Indian spinners, Martyn said, "I don't have any fixed strategy to play the spinners as I always play according to the situation of the match". (PTI)
