Mumbai :
Cricket Board President Jagmohan Dalmiya said that the BCCI was still awaiting a word from the players who wanted some changes to be incorporated in the Players Contract. "We are still awaiting a word from the players who wanted some changes to be made. It is between the Board and the players, but the media seems to be more interested in the subject," said Dalmiya. He was non-committal on the time-frame fixed for the long-delayed and much-discussed system to be implemented. Dalmiya is in the city to attend the two-day Finance Committee meeting of the Board, the main agenda of which is to finalise the annual report. Sources in the Board said that the players have already sent their recommendations, suggesting changes in the gradation formula besides asking for an increase in match fees for the reserves. The players want the gradation formula to be changed so that grade 'A' players receive Rs 50 lakh as annual retainer instead of the originally worked out Rs 60 lakh so as to enable grade B and C players to receive Rs 35 and Rs 20 lakh each annually instead of the original Rs 30 and Rs 15 lakh. They also want the reserves to be paid 70 per cent of the match fees instead of 50 per cent. BCCI has already decided to distribute 26 per cent of its gross revenue among the players. The ratio is 13 per cent for international cricketers, 10.4 per cent for domestic senior players and the remaining for junior cricketers. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
