Mumbai:A meeting of the Cricket Board's all-powerful Working Committee has been convened on September 13 in Delhi to discuss "important matters."
BCCI sources were tight-lipped about the agenda for the meeting which is unusual coming as it does a fortnight before its AGM in Mumbai on September 28 and less than a month after the WC's previous sitting followed by two Special AGMs.
"The full agenda is yet to be prepared but the meeting has been convened to discuss some important matters," the sources added.
The WC will meet 23 days after the board threw out Kapil Dev as chairman of its National Cricket Academy over his links with Subhash Chandra's Essel Group-floated Indian Cricket League.
The BCCI also decided to ban all those who join or had joined the ICL from taking part in the board's activities.
Stung by the board's decision against the cricket legend, the ICL has moved the Delhi High Court seeking to restrain the Board from "intimidating" its players and interfering in its affairs.
In the light of these developments it remains to be seen whether there will be a climbdown by the BCCI over its stated position vis- -vis the ICL at next month's one-day sitting of the Working Committee.
