Bhopal :
A day after Jagmohan Dalmiya was appointed as BCCI's first-ever Patron-in-Chief, an application terming the step as a contempt of court was moved in a local court today. Civil judge P K Nigam, while reserving verdict on the application by petitioner Bhopal Cricket Association member Yogesh Khattar till tomorrow, asked the Cricket Board to tender a reply on legality of the proposal to make Dalmiya its Patron-in-Chief, by September 20. Khattar, through his counsel Ajay Gupta, had earlier challenged the proposal, claiming appointing a Patron-in-Chief was outside BCCI's rulebook. The judge, on September 10, had restrained BCCI from taking any decision on the proposal, contrary to its rules and regulations. (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
