Bangalore:
Selectors have begun their meeting in Bangalore to decide the Indian team for the first Test against Australia, but it is now clear that Sachin Tendulkar will not play. The star batsman is suffering from tennis elbow, which has forced him to sit out the last three tournaments India played. No major changes are expected in the team other than at the opening slot. Virender Sehwag will either open with Akash Chopra or Yuvraj Singh. Both players could now be in the final eleven as Tendulkar is ruled out. The Bombay bomber did say on Wednesday that he might just have recovered in time. However, the selectors are likely to have a close look at some good performances from the India A players in the practice game.Topics mentioned in this article
