New Delhi:What's common between Princess Diana, Marilyn Monroe and Sachin Tendulkar. Apart from being legends in different spheres, they have had songs dedicated and composed specially for them.
Now Sachin may not be the first to have a song dedicated to him but he's certainly the first to have a tribute in 20 different languages.
CV Ranjith, a dental surgeon from Kerala, has made a video called Shaan-e-Hindustan or Pride of India that has been released in 20 different languages united in praise of one man.
"Being a country where people speak different languages, I want this song to reach the common people of India. So I made it in all different languages - 18 Indian languages plus Arabic and English," said Ranjith.
Shot over six months and costing over Rs 10 lakh, the song also aims at promoting unity in diversity through the binding medium of sport and India's biggest sports star.
"Sachin Tendulkar is a legend, he is an international icon. I have been an ardent fan of Sachin Tendulkar since 17 years and I dedicate this song to him on the basis of his performance," said Ranjith.
So for the man who made it back to the list of the top ten cricketers in the latest ICC ODI rankings, Sachin gave his fans not only another reason but also another tune to celebrate with.
