It is because the BCCI has, in fact, agreed to pay him a compensation for the rest of the season.
Vengsarkar confirmed to NDTV that it was not threats from the board or the fear of being forced to resign from his post as chairman of selectors but apparently a cash compensation that has bought peace for the moment.
This is for the season until March after which the board is expected to come good on its promise of paying its selectors.
Vengsarkar also attended a dinner hosted by BCCI chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday, where he reportedly met other board officials.
