Mumbai:Chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar on Saturday met BCCI Chief Sharad Pawar and President-elect Shashank Manohar apparently to discuss the compensation for agreeing to stop writing newspaper columns and other cricketing issues.
"It was a very good meeting. We discussed a lot of things about Indian cricket and all the other issues. The meeting went very well," Vengsarkar said after the meeting at Pawar's residence.
Pawar and Vengsarkar were supposed to meet on Friday but the meeting was postponed for Saturday due to the inauguration of an indoor cricket stadium at Bandra.
Vengsarkar was at loggerheads with the BCCI after the Board issued guidelines prohibiting selectors from writing newspaper columns.
The tussle reached a flashpoint when Vengsarkar offered to resign due to the ban but Pawar calmed the nerves promising that proper compensation will be given to the selectors.
Following the rift, the Cricket Board announced a hike in the allowances of selectors.
BCCI Finance Committee which met on Friday hiked the dearness allowance from Rs 5000 to 10,000 and the travelling allowance from Rs 7000 to 10,000 for selectors.
The BCCI working committee will meet on Sunday to discuss the proceedings of Saturday's meeting.
