AUCKLAND:
Vettori moved to take advantage of warm, humid conditions and early dampness in the pitch at Eden Park which seemed likely to assist his seam bowlers.
The conditions encouraged New Zealand to name spinner Jeetan Patel as 12th man and to choose a bowling lineup including seamers Kyle Mills, Mark Gillespie and Chris Martin. Bangladesh, which has never beaten New Zealand in a limited-overs international, named Javed Omer as 12th man.
