Islamabad:Pakistan Cricket Board seems interested in opening up old wounds. At the height of the ongoing racism debate, the PCB has asked the ICC for the result of the infamous 2006 Oval Test to be changed.
Pakistan forfeited the match on the fourth day in protest, after umpire Darrell Hair decided to penalise them for ball tampering. England were automatically declared winners, and the match went down as the first ever forfeited Test.
According to reports, the ICC will consider the application of the PCB for a change in result at its next meeting.
Pakistan's case has also been helped by the fact that England, quite remarkably, have supported their case, and will be pushing for a change in the result.
