NEW DELHI:A huge surprise in the Indian team selection for the tri-series in Australia, Sourav Ganguly has been left out despite a fairly successful year after he made a comeback to the team.
There is still no place for Rahul Dravid, who has now missed three one-day series in a row. Suresh Raina makes a comeback after almost a year. The UP batsman made 85 in a losing cause for his team in the Ranji trophy on Saturday.
BCCI has announced the 16 members for the Twenty20 match and for the triangular ODI series starting from February 1 to March 7, 2008.
Meanwhile, despite rumours about his fitness and an alleged attitude problem, Yuvraj Singh remained deputy to skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Virender Sehwag, who has opened the innings in the ongoing Perth Test with some success, has also come back into the reckoning for the ODIs.
Manoj Tiwary, Yusuf Pathan and Munaf Patel will be on standby, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said.
"The three selectors here had a teleconference with two of their colleagues Ranjib Biswal and Venkatapathy Raju and Dhoni in Australia, after which the team was selected," Shah said.
Explaining reasons behind ignoring Ganguly and Dravid, Shah said, "The emphasis was on fielding abilities and they wanted a young fielding side for the series. That's why you see a lot of youngsters in the side."
