New Delhi:Thursday's proposed motorcade from Delhi airport to Ferozshah Kotla stadium for the triangular series-winning Indian cricket team has been cancelled, a top board official said in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla said that only a public felicitation function would be held at the Kotla on Thursday. Entry will be free for all.
The Indian team arrives in New Delhi around 11 am on Thursday.
The Indian team had registered a historic win in Australia, winning the CB Series for the first time in six attempts spread over 27 years.
India first won the Sydney final against Australia on Sunday, with Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten 117. They then backed it up with another win on Tuesday, Tendulkar against amongst the run, scoring 91.
India won the finals 2-0. Praveen Kumar was declared man of the match in Brisbane.
