Chennai:
Oram was pleased with his three-wicket haul tonight, but felt he needed to bowl even better to help his side win as many matches as possible.
"In the two previous games, I bowled too short and wide. Today's performance was better, so overall I am not very happy although I managed to get a few wickets today," said Oram, who was adjudged the man of the match.
The Kiwi said he did not have any specific plans to bowl to his countrymate and explosive opener Brendon McCullum who failed to play a big innings though scoring a quick-fire 24 from just 12 balls.
"I kept the ball tight and did not give him the width," said Oram.
Although Super Kings have won all their three matches so far, Oram said it was too early in to install any team as a favourite to win the IPL.
"We need to continue performing in the same way in the rest of the tournament, but at this stage, you cannot tag any team as a favourite," he pointed out at the post-match press conference.
He showered praise on his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni saying, "He (Dhoni) is a very relaxed individual and does not allow pressure to creep into the dressing room."
Knight Riders batsman Laxmi Ratan Shukla said McCullum's dismissal in the third over of their innings was the turning point of the match which they lost by nine wickets.
Shukla said the pitch was good but their batsmen did not apply themselves well.
"The pitch was fine, but we did not apply ourselves when we batted. Another 30 or 40 runs would have made the difference. And then, our bowlers also failed to provide us an early breakthrough that we were hoping for.
"However, we are not perturbed by today's defeat. It can happen to any team. We had a bad day today, but I am sure, we will bounce back. There is still a lot of cricket to be played in the tournament," he said.
