According to reports, Knight Riders' captain Sourav Ganguly and Shah Rukh Khan are not seeing eye to eye on many issues. No one knows for sure what prompted the fallout, but speculations abound.
There are reportedly differences between the two on many issues -- ranging from team selection to Dada's displeasure at SRK's apparent thoughts of going in for a rotational captaincy. The two also differed on the team composition, right from the player auctions in February. Ganguly apparently wanted more batsmen in the team, while SRK persisted on having a bowling-heavy team.
This is the second such instance of an open spat between the team owner and the player, after the Bangalore team's owner Vijay Mallya's open criticism of captain Rahul Dravid. Does this point to much deeper fissures and more possible fractures within the entire IPL set-up in the days to come? Don't you think such incidents could endanger the very existence of the IPL?
What is the solution? What do you think should be done to check the rot? Who should have a larger say in matters like team selection? The team owner, the coach or the captain? Write in with your thoughts and opinions...
