Karachi:
The Board has sent Nadeem Akram to Dubai to coordinate with the Pakistan embassy officials and resolve the issue.
"We are in constant touch with the concerned authorities. Asif has not been arrested but detained by the custom officials. We have sent the substance recovered from his luggage for lab testing," Akram said from Dubai.
"Once the tests are completed we will know what the substance really is, what it contains. But we will handle everything in a transparent manner," he added.
Asif has been under detention since Sunday for alleged possession of contraband drugs while on a flight back home after playing in the Indian Premier League.
Asif played for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL and left for Dubai after the team's semi-final encounter against Rajasthan Royals.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon on the matter.
The pacer is due to appear before a magistrate in Dubai and is likely to to be granted bail.
