Drafted in the side at the eleventh hour as detained pacer Mohammad Asif's replacement, rookie Pakistani speedster Sohail Khan is raring to have a crack at the Indian batsmen in the triangular one-day series in Bangladesh.

With Asif languishing in the detention centre at the Dubai airport for allegedly possessing contraband drugs, Sohail was hurried included in the side and the youngster said he was delighted to get a chance to play abroad.

"It is a big opportunity for me to leave an impression at the top level. And for me the most significant thing is that India is playing. My dream is to get a chance to play against them," Sohail said.

"Since I started playing cricket, a match against India always inspired and excited me. If I get a crack at them in the tri-series it would be fantastic and I will try to give my best against them," Sohail said.

The young bowler is considered one of the fastest in Pakistan after Shoaib Akhtar and he made an impressive debut against Zimbabwe earlier this year, besides playing against Bangladesh.

He also stood out in the last domestic season with some fiery spells in games, including a tour match against Zimbabwe, and team manager Talat Ali has high hopes on the pacer.

"Sohail has got a lot of potentials and talent and I think he has improved after attending the week-long specialised coaching camp conducted by Wasim Akram in Lahore," Talat Ali said of the pacer who has appeared in three ODIs.

"He is a good replacement for anyone and playing abroad in different environment and conditions will be a good learning opportunity for him," Ali said.
