Lata to sing for Kapil's Devils
Singer Lata Mangeshkar has been invited to perform at a felicitation function for Kapil Dev's 1983 World Cup winning squad.

"Yes, an invitation has gone to Lata Mangeshkar to attend the function. Invites have also been sent to all former Test captains, all Test cricketers based in Delhi, women international cricketers in Delhi, women's former and current India captains and past office bearers of the BCCI," BCCI sources told PTI on Monday.
"The president and secretary of all state associations have also been invited for the function," they added.
The invitation to melody queen Lata by the BCCI has been extended to thank her for helping the BCCI raise funds to honour "Kapil's Devils" through a special concert following the Indian squad's triumph in the quadrennial extravaganza for the first and only time.
The concert, held at New Delhi, helped raise Rs 20 lakh for the then cash-strapped BCCI and the team members were paid Rs one lakh each from the proceeds.
A BCCI media release stated that Union Minister of Sports M S Gill and ambassadors of cricketing nations would also be among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
