Dambulla:
Virat Kohli will replace Virender Sehwag in the team for the 1st ODI in Dambulla, Sri Lanka on Monday.
Virender Sehwag had injured his ankle during practice. He was seen limping out of ground after the practice session.
"If the swelling in his ankle subsides, why not play him?," a team management official had said earlier.
The left-handed Kohli will make his debut for India.
The Indian team is already without Sachin Tendulkar, who withdrew from the series after sustaining an elbow injury during the third and final Test.
India plays a five-match ODI series after losing the three-Test series 1-2.
