Dhaka:
Team manager Lindsay Crocker told AFP Oram would miss the second Test starting Friday and would fly home on Saturday.
"Oram is flying back because of a sore back and we are not sure about the extent of his injury but he has a history of back problems so the people who know his injury and have dealt with it will assess him again," said Crocker.
The 30-year-old all-rounder, who was man-of-the-series in New Zealand's 2-1 win in the preceding one-day series, sustained the injury during the first Test in Chittagong.
He could bowl only eight overs in the second innings of the Test which New Zealand won by three wickets on Tuesday.
Crocker said with the important Australia tour coming up in two weeks it was important to assess his problem in time.
