New Delhi:Western Australia Warriors will face Pakistan's Sialkot Stallions in their opening match of the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 on December 4 at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
The Warriors, led by Marcus North, are the runners-up team of the domestic Twenty20 tournament of Cricket Australia, while Stallions are the Pakistan domestic Twenty20 champions. Indian Premier League champions Rajasthan Royals and South African Nashua Dolphins are the other two teams in Group B.
Australian Twenty20 champions Victoria Bushrangers figure in Group A of the competition along with the runners-up of the Indian Premier League Chennai Super Kings, South African champions Nashua Titans and England domestic winners Middlesex.
The Bushrangers face off against the Chennai Super Kings in their opening encounter in Mumbai on December 4, according to a statement.
Both the Australian teams include star cricketers like Cameron White, Brad Hodge, David Hussey and Peter Siddle of the Bushrangers and Marcus North, Shaun Marsh, Luke Pomersbach and Luke Ronchi of the Warriors. Tom Moody is the coach of Warriors while the Bushrangers are coached by Greg Shipperd.
