Champions League T20 called off for now
The Governing Council has decided that the inaugural edition of the Champions League Twenty20 will now be played in India in October 2009.

The Governing Council, comprising the founder Board members - Board of Control for Cricket in India, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa - took the decision after considering all aspects including the international calendar and the domestic schedules of the participating teams.
Six teams - two from each of the founding Board members - are confirmed as participants. Other participating teams will be finalised by the end of January 2009. Invitations will be extended to the winners/finalists of the respective countries' domestic Twenty20 tournaments.
The first edition of the Champions League Twenty20 was originally scheduled to be played in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai from December 3 to 10, 2008 but was postponed in view of the terror attack on Mumbai on November 26.
Lalit Modi, Chairman, Champions League Twenty20 and Vice-President, Board of Control for Cricket in India, said, "The inaugural edition of the Champions League Twenty20 will now be held in India in October 2009. The Governing Council, comprising the founder Board members took this collective decision after taking into account all aspects."
The Governing Council of the Champions League Twenty20 on Friday decided that the inaugural edition of the Champions League Twenty20 would now be played in India in October 2009. The event scheduled for 2008 has been cancelled, according to a statement released by the Indian Premier League (IPL).The Governing Council, comprising the founder Board members - Board of Control for Cricket in India, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa - took the decision after considering all aspects including the international calendar and the domestic schedules of the participating teams.
