Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero will miss this weekend's Premier League game against Aston Villa, manager Manuel Pellegrini said Friday.
Pellegrini has decided against playing the Argentina international at Villa Park on Saturday ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match against Bayern Munich after he suffered an unspecified injury in the Manchester derby last weekend.
Aguero scored twice in City's 4-1 thrashing of English champions Manchester United before being withdrawn after 86 minutes at Eastlands.
There seemed nothing untoward in that decision or in the fact he was subsequently rested for the midweek League Cup win over Wigan.
However, Pellegrini said Friday: "Aguero finished the last derby in the last play with a small pain, I think it was nothing important but I think it was a risk for him to play three games in the same week.
"We will leave him for next Wednesday but he will be absolutely fine."
