London: Manchester United will be without Potuguese winger Nani for the next few matches due to a hamstring injury, manager David Moyes said on Friday. Nani has not featured since the home defeat by Newcastle on December 7 and has recently been linked with a move to Juventus. "Nani has a hamstring injury which is a little bit worse than we thought," said Moyes. "He is probably going to be missing for a few weeks."
He joins an injury list that already includes Robin van Persie, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick. Wayne Rooney is also a major doubt for Saturday's encounter with West Ham as he tries to overcome a groin strain, although Moyes is not ruling him out. "He has a chance," said Moyes. "We will see how he is tomorrow."
The United manager has been buoyed by the players who have come into the side in his star players' absences with Danny Welbeck and Jonny Evans particularly impressive for the champions. "The players that have come in have done really well," he said. "We have a big squad here and you need extra players and it has been seen in recently we have been short in areas, but the players that have come in and done well."
