Manchester City F.C. Captain Vincent Kompany Signs New Five-Year Deal

Vincent Kompany joined Manchester City from German side Hamburg in 2002 as a 22-year-old. In his first full campaign as skipper in 2011/12, he led City to a title win. He has made  240 appearances for the Manchester club.

Manchester: Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has signed a new five-year contract with the English Premier League champions, the club announced Wednesday. (EPL peaceful without Suarez: Chief Executive)

"This team is stronger now than it's ever been; we have competition for places in every position and a dressing room full of exceptional, motivated people who want to continue making history together," the Belgium central defender said in a City statement.
