FIFA World Cup: North Korea Lambasts Spain's 'Worn-Out' Tiki-Taka

North Korea played in the 2010 edition of FIFA World Cup - their second ever. The national media and fans though are following action from Brazil closely this year and largely feel Spain deserved to crash out as they were jaded.

Football diplomacy? North Korea may have played only two World Cups but are confident of tutoring Spain after an early exit from Brazil.


Seoul: Spain's shock elimination from the World Cup on Saturday attracted scrutiny from North Korean state media which more usually runs vitriolic attacks on the country's enemies and glowing reports on the activities of leader Kim Jong-Un.

North Korean fans said Spain's intricate "tiki-taka" passing style was "worn-out" after the footballing giants' early exit from the tournament, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

The reclusive state failed to qualify but state television has aired recordings of matches, which were drawing "great attention of football fans and televiewers", KCNA said.
