Brazil have finally qualified for the World Cup, beating Venezuela 3-0

Brazil have finally qualified for the World Cup, beating Venezuela 3-0 in the final game of a long, agonising campaign in which they have used four coaches and lost six matches. In the 12th minute, mid fielder Juninho Paulista played a ball through the centre of the Venezuelan defence and the ball ran loose to Luizao, who rounded Rafael Dudamel to score 1-0 for Brazil. Brazil got their second seven minutes later, Edilson passing to Luizao who got his 26th birthday gift with this low shot. Edilson was again involved in the third goal in the 35th minute, picking up a loose bad pass and running into the penalty area, where the ball fell to Rivaldo who scored from a narrow angle. Venezuela, who couldn't get a goal in edgeways finished with ten men after captain Luis Vera was sent off for elbowing Juninho Paulista in the 48th minute.
