Arsenal trying to improve their away record against the La Liga leaders Deportivo La Coruna, couldn't have asked for a worse start. The 25th minute and the match looked like it was over for the gunners after the leading goal scorer in the Spanish first division made it 2-0 for Deportivo. It seemed a particularly bad day for the Arsenal keeper as he was almost beaten minutes later by Victor. And Wright's miserable night came to an end at half time, when he was replaced by Stuart Taylor because of a knee injury. Arsenal's frustration further increased when French striker Thierry Henry was yellow-carded after hacking the ball away in sheer frustration for his failure to control a pass. Arsenal's poor away form continued as the gunners suffered their sixth away defeat in the Champions League. Deportivo winning the match 2-0.
