Arsenal haven't been managing to win away from home lately, so their best chance of making it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League is to win everything at home. On Tuesday night they hosted Juventus hoping to do just that. In the fourth minute Juventus came close to scoring but Alesandro del Piero's shot was brilliantly saved by Stuart Taylor. The visitors dominated play early on. They had another chance to take the lead in the 15th minute, this time again Arsenal keeper Taylor was up to the mark. Six minutes later, the Gunners took the lead against the run of play. Juventus keeper Buffon made a bad error which helped Ljunberg open the score. In the 27th minute a curling free kick by Thiery Henry saw the hosts take a 2-0 lead, even though they had largely been outplayed by the Italian side. Juventus pulled one back early in the second half with David Trezeguet's goalbound shot ricocheting off the keeper. Arsenal sealed the nail in the coffin with a third goal. After some exquisite ball work by Dennis Bergkamp, Ljunberg made the final touch for his second goal of the match. Arsenal went on to register their first win of the second phase.Topics mentioned in this article
