Kolkata:
After the World Cup finals on Sunday in Germany, Kolkata known for its love of football is divided. One section of the fans is heartbroken over the defeat of France by Italy. Another half however, is celebrating because the team that defeated their beloved Brazil has been vanquished. Till he was asked to leave the football field, Zidane was seriously threatening to dislodge Ronaldinho from Kolkata's pedestal for football Gods. "I was supporting France. But bad luck. Zidane made a mistake and we paid the price. Zidane shouldn't have made that mistake," said Tanveer, a supporter of the French team. Another supporter of France added: "France lost because of Zidane's mistake. If had not fouled, France would have won". But another half of Kolkata is rejoicing, not because they suddenly discovered an Italian connection but simply because Italy beat France, the conquerors of Brazil, Kolkata's first love. "I am happy that France has lost because France had defeated Brazil," said Brazil supporter Binod.Topics mentioned in this article
