An under strength Uruguay had no trouble against Singapore in their World Cup warm-up game. Uruguay took the lead against Singapore in the 27th minute. Some poor marking by the Singapore defense saw Richard Morales tap the ball into the back of the net from inside the six-yard box. Singapore had a great opportunity to equalize early in the second half. But Mirko Grabovac's shot was pushed onto the crossbar by the Uruguay keeper. In the 77th minute, Uruguay went up 2-0, as Morales used his height to head home off a corner for his second goal of the match. Singapore worked hard and were rewarded in the 82nd minute after Indra Sahdan Daud was bought down in the area and the hosts were awarded a penalty. Indra made no mistake from the spot as Singapore managed a consolation goal. Uruguay would however win the game 2-1.Topics mentioned in this article
