Arsenal back on top with 2-0 win over Ipswich
Arsenal moved back to the top of the English Premiership with a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town at Highbury on Sunday.

Manchester United travelled to Stamford Bridge, London to take on Chelsea in a high noon kick off. With 15 minutes gone United took the lead. Ryan Giggs pushed the ball into the path of Paul Scholes who sent an absolute cracker of a shot through a crowd of players to put United in front. Four minutes before half time United were 2-0 up. Ryan Giggs and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer combined to put Van Nistelrooy through and he made no mistake. Five minutes before full time United sealed the points with a third, Van Nistelrooy and Giggs this time setting up Solskjaer who had an empty net too his mercy. With the final score reading 3-0, United were definitely not giving up their title with out a fight. Liverpool vs Derby County With United winning, pressure fell on Liverpool who were at home to relegation threatened Derby County. In the 16th minute Liverpool were in front after some neat trickery from Michael Owen in the area. In the last minute of the game a long ball was played through to Owen by Heskey who rounded the keeper to slot his and his side's second as Liverpool moved on top of the table briefly. Arsenal vs Ipswich Town With both United and Liverpool winning, Arsenal knew any slip up at home to relegation threatened Ipswich Town would put them in trouble. Arsenal took the lead in the 68th minute. Patrick Viera's cross fell at the feet of Freddie Ljungberg who turned and shot past Andy Marshall in to the goal. In the 78th minute, Arsenal doubled their lead as Ljungberg tapped in his own header to take the Gunners back to the top of the table. With the top three teams winning there is no change in the table. Arsenal are still on course for a League and Cup double while Newcastle have virtually guranted themselves a place in the Champions league next season.Topics mentioned in this article
