Madrid:
Real Madrid reached agreement with Juventus for the transfers of Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson, the Spanish club announced on its Web site late Wednesday. The transfers are the first major moves by Juventus players in the wake of a corruption scandal that has relegated the perennial Italian champion to the second division. Madrid said the players were on vacation and will be presented in the coming days. Contract details were not disclosed. Cannavaro, a defender, captained Italy to the World Cup title this month. Emerson, a midfielder, is a sometime captain of Brazil. Both players follow coach Fabio Capello from Juventus to Spain. Emerson was also with Capello at AS Roma previously.(AP)Topics mentioned in this article
