Kolkata:
In a couple of days, East Bengal will hit the IFA League circuit with new coach Carlos Roberto Pereira da Dilva at the helm. However, coach Carlos is not promising wonders at short notice, but he does appear confident about the team's prospects. "I have a very good impression of the players. They have an interest to learn and know what I can do and give them. So I am confident we can do well," Carlos Roberto Pereira da Dilva, Coach, East Bengal. Although he has never coached Ronaldo or Ronaldinho, his CV does include top Brazilian clubs and Asian teams like UAE and Singapore. Thus, East Bengal is hoping that he will be able to marry Brazilian skills and Kolkata talents successfully. "As far as bio-datas are concerned, his is the best. The tradition of football in Brazil is the best because in Brazil technicality, performance, everything counts," said Swapan Ball, Manager, East Bengal. East Bengal has had foreign coaches before such as their last coach Belgium's Phillip D'Ridder, who failed to make any difference to the team's fortunes. But hope springs eternal and the team is riding very high on the Brazilian's golden touch.Topics mentioned in this article
