London:The English press Beckham's chances of making a comeback to the England football team, as 'Mission Impossible'. The former England captain was dumped from the team after the World Cup by new coach Steve McClaren. Beckham had himself stepped down as captain after the World Cup, but he has no intention of giving up on his England career. "It's always tough when I'm watching England games and I'm not involved, but I've been honoured to have been able to put the shirt on for 11 years and 94 caps and six years as captain, so I've been honoured to do that and want to carry on doing that. That's why I've not retired as an England player and I won't retire," said David Beckham, Member, Real Madrid Football Club. Through the days of depression, Beckham has been helped by his good friend Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who recently had his own problems after being dumped by paramount studios. Beckham says that the actor has been a huge source of inspiration. Needless to say that losing the captaincy has in no way affected Beckham's popularity off the field. "The 'Brand Beckham' will be there for many years but David Beckham the footballer will be here as long as I feel," said David Beckham, Former England captain. Beckham the footballer, might be 31 and this goal of his in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday proved that he's not lost the touch yet. Now if only McClaren could see that and give Beckham another chance.
