Berlin: German giants Bayern Munich breathed a sigh of relief on Sunday after an injury sustained by French international Franck Ribery in pre-season training turned out to be not as serious as feared.
Ribery, who has been beset with injuries since joining the Bundesliga club in 2007, had to be taken off the field in a golf cart with his left ankle heavily bandaged on Sunday and visibly in pain.
"I slipped in a challenge and my foot cracked," the 28-year-old winger said. "At first I was really scared. I thought I had torn my ligaments."
