Eidur Gudjohnsen's second-half goal against 10-man Everton lifted league-leading Chelsea to a 1-0 victory, giving the Blues a 12-point lead as they march to their first league title in 50 years. Everton stayed with Chelsea in the first half at Goodison Park despite playing a man short. Striker James Beattie was sent off in the eighth minute for head-butting defender William Gallas. The Iceland striker scored on a tap-in in the 69th - his 11th of the season - to give Chelsea 68 points with only 11 league games remaining. Manchester United has 56 with defending champion Arsenal on 54. Everton has 48 followed by Liverpool (43). United plays today at Manchester City and Arsenal is home against Crystal Palace on Monday.
