Bhaichung Bhutia, who will be playing his swansong match against European giants Bayern Munich on Tuesday, is irreplaceable, says his India teammate Gouramangi Singh.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Spanish club Barcelona's Youth Camp at Heritage School, Gouramangi said: "It is an honour to have played alongside Bhutia, nobody can replace him. He has taken Indian football to such heights that it will not be easy to match his effort."
Star midfielder Climax Lawrence, too, showered praise on his former captain, calling him the best player he had ever played with.
"Bhaichung coming back to play in the Indian team for one last time is a great occasion, he is the best player I have played with."
India will be competing with a team that has won the European Cup three times in a row (1974-76) and 2010 Champions League losing finalists to Inter Milan.
Climax though was positive about India's chances in the match. "Anything is possible in the game of football, we will try to beat them."
Promising striker Jeje Lalpekhlua will lead the attack in the absence of injured striker Sunil Chetri, who will be missing the match.
"I am very excited to play Bayern, I love the way Arjen Robben plays. I will get to learn a lot by playing alongside these World class players," said Jeje.
