Two Russian football clubs issued a joint statement on Thursday condemning an incident where a fan threw a banana at a player in Moscow.
"The common task of all sides is to find the bastard and to make his name public," read the statement issued by Moscow's Lokomotiv and Makhachkala's Anzhi.
The two teams also vowed to unite their joint efforts to eliminate this sort of provocation in the Russian league, Xinhua reported.
According to the teams, the hooligan has been detected by the security cameras at the Cherkizovo stadium.
Some one, reportedly from the VIP seats of the stadium, threw a banana at Anzhi defender Christopher Samba, a native of Congo, during a match March 18.
