FIFA signs sponsorship deal with Korea's Hyundai

FIFA has signed an eight-year sponsorship agreement with South Korea's Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, to run from 2007. FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Hyundai chief executive Kim Dong-jin signed the contract during the annual Geneva International Motor Show, FIFA said in a statement. Sponsorship rights Under the agreement, Hyundai and its affiliate Kia Motors Corp. will have main sponsorship rights to all FIFA events between 2007 and 2014, including the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. Hyundai will also be FIFA's global transport provider. "Through our sponsorship of world-class football events, FIFA and Hyundai Kia Automotive Group have shared values and visions of football's role as a unifying force to the world," Kim said. Hyundai is the second company to sign a new, longer sponsorship deal with FIFA, after German sporting goods manufacturer Adidas. FIFA did not disclose the value of the deal.
