Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident that Dutch star Arjen Robben will extend his contract with the club beyond June 2013.
"Arjen will stay at Bayern for a long time," Rummenigge said in an interview with Sport Bild, adding that "no star will leave us" in the off-season.
Rummenigge's stance was shared by the club's ex-president Franz Beckenbauer, who was quoted by Bild as saying that "Bayern needs Robben".
The duo's statements follow Bild's announcement that Robben and his agent had put off extending his contract until 2015, unhappy at the way that the club had dealt with a dressing room bust-up that saw the player struck by teammate Franck Ribery.
Ribery was reportedly fined 50,000 euros ($66,000) after lashing out at Robben after an argument over a first-half free-kick in last month's 2-1 Champions League semi-final first-leg win over Real Madrid.
