Monaco:
Substitute Jeremy Clement scored with a glancing header deep into injury-time to help French Ligue 1 leaders Olympique Lyon salvage a 1-1 draw at Monaco's Stade Louis II on Friday. After a dismal first half, Lyon's Michael Essien was sent off for a second bookable offence after 65 minutes. Julien Rodriguez opened the scoring with his first goal for Monaco in 116 matches with just five minutes remaining. However, Clement then headed in Juninho's cross in the fourth minute of injury-time to deprive Monaco of a win that would have reignited the championship race in the French first division. The result extended Lyon's lead at the top of the table to eight points over second-placed Lille as Lyon stayed on track for a fourth successive Ligue 1 title, a feat previously achieved by only Saint-Etienne and Marseille.
