Bridgetown:
FIFA allowed the Barbados Football Association to resume its domestic leagues but continued its suspension of the Caribbean island from international play. Barbados received notice it can resume its domestic competitions on Aug. 7, in a letter from Trinidad's Jack Warner, a FIFA vice president, said BFA president Ronald Jones. FIFA suspended the BFA two weeks ago because of a power struggle between Jones and former general secretary Randy Harris, who challenged Jones' September presidential election victory by contesting it in local courts. FIFA prohibits members from taking internal soccer matters to court. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
