Di Michele was also fined $27,000. Thomas Manfredini of Atalanta received a three-month ban, while Vincenzo Sommese of Mantova was hit with the harshest penalty of five months and 20 days, plus a $14,000 fine.
Massimo Margiotta of Frosinone was banned for four months with a fine of $14,000.
The players were accused of having placed bets "directly or through a third party, on the results relative to official soccer matches organized by the Italian soccer federation."
Federation investigators linked more than 20 players last year to bets totaling more than $14 million from 1998-2005.
Betting wasn't banned for Italian soccer players and officials until November 2005, but the four players reportedly placed wagers through an illegal bookmaker.
The players will also have to do community service work promoting soccer values.
Each of the players acknowledged their guilt and received reduced sentences.
The Vincenza and Mantova clubs also made plea-bargains and were fined $10,000 each.
Udinese, the club Di Michele played for during the alleged betting, denied involvement and was penalized $20,500.
