Newcastle:Angry Newcastle supporters have attacked Keron Dyer's car and house after the midfielder made it clear he wants to leave the club.
He was booed when he appeared as a substitute in Sunday's friendly win over Juventus, and fans then verbally abused Dyer and banged on the windows of his car as he left the ground after the match.
Eggs were also thrown at Dyer's house on the outskirts of Newcastle, causing club chairman Chris Mort to denounce the fans' behaviour.
"We have to make all our current players and potential new signings see Newcastle as a great place to live," Mort said. "It would be disastrous for this sort of behaviour to be repeated."
Dyer wants to leave the club to be closer to his children, who live in Ipswich, in eastern England.
London clubs West Ham and Tottenham have made bids.
If Dyer moves to West Ham, he will be reunited with former Newcastle teammate Lee Bowyer. The pair were sent off for fighting each other during a match against Aston Villa in 2005.
