Pumas, Catolica in Copa Sudamericana semis

Second-half substitute Bruno Marioni scored twice and led Pumas UNAM to a 3-0 victory over Corinthians Wednesday to reach the semifinals of the Copa Sudamericana. Marioni's goals, a penalty in the 69th and a second goal in the second minute of injury time, helped Pumas overcome a 2-1 first-leg deficit and advance on a 4-2 aggregate. Brazilian Leandro Augusto scored Pumas' other goal in the 88th minute. Pumas advanced to face Argentina's Velez Sarsfield in the semifinals. In another match, Catolica scored one goal in each half Wednesday to beat Fluminense of Brazil 2-0 and reach the semifinals. Catolica, which advanced on a 3-2 aggregate, will face either Boca Juniors of Argentina or Internacional of Brazil, which are to face off Thursday in the second leg of their series. Internacional won the first leg 1-0. Jose Quinteros gave the lead to Catolica at 41st minute off a pass from midfielder Dario Conca. Francisco Arrue made it 2-0 at minute 65th.
