Clarence Seedorf scored two goals and set up another by Andriy Shevchenko as AC Milan beat defending champion Juventus 3-1 and stretched its lead atop the Series A to seven points. The 20th win of the season in 25 matches gave the Milan powerhouse a huge lead over second-place AS Roma, which was unexpectedly held to a 0-0 draw by lowly Reggina. Juventus, coming off a bitter elimination from the Champions League by Deportivo de La Coruna, slipped nine points behind, its hopes to retain the title severely hurt. With nine rounds to go to the end of the season, European champion Milan must also engage in the Champions League. The Italian side was drawn to play Deportivo de La Coruna in the quarterfinals. "Sheva" headed in the opening goal in the 25th minute off a perfect cross from Seedorf. It was the 18th goal of the season for the Ukrainian striker, who leads the Serie A. Seedorf, the Dutch midfielder with stints with Inter Milan and Real Madrid, sealed Milan's victory with powerful long distance drives in the 63rd and 75th minutes. Juventus, missing injured stars Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet, faded out after allowing Milan's second goal, which was helped by a deflection off veteran defender Ciro Ferrara which put the ball out of reach of national team goalkeeper GianLuigi Buffon. Ferrara somewhat avenged his unlucky intervention by scoring Juventus' only goal off a corner kick in the 81st. Yesterday's win was the first by AC Milan at Turin's Stadio delle Alpi since 1999.
